Well, this is one way to sell pants. This interactive short film called The Liberation is for the Danish clothing brand Only by the Swedish digital agency North Kingdom. It follows four teenage girls trying to escape the oppressive boredom of being rich and from the suburbs. The film seamlessly tells the story while allowing the viewer to pause and learn more about the clothing worn by the actresses.
Although it’s well made, it’s very pouty and Euro – showing teenage rebellion in the form of taking over karaoke bars and spying on skinny-dipping boys named Sven. After all their naughtiness, the heroines escape a mob of un-trendily dress old people who hate them for being pretty. Don’t think too deeply into the plot. After all, its goal is to sell jeans to teenage girls.
