There were some interesting things popping up in the Miami blogosphere today. If you’re still in rainy day hibernation mode, give them a look.
Also from the New Times, a story on notable Miami artists like Friends with You that are heading to LA for better opportunities. It’s a bit disheartening knowing that we have what we think is a burgeoning scene, but it’s still way behind other places. Another example is David Tamargo, who exhibited in our gallery during Basel, was the curator of the World Erotic Art Museum and has since headed to Culver City to be the Creative Director of the Royal/T Cafe.
Staying with that theme, Tropicult has a guest post from Indie Film Club Miami inviting film makers to participate in their monthly “I’m Not Gonna Move to LA” shorts exhibition. We hung out at the O Cinema for last night’s viewing and chowed down on the Purple People Eatery grub. Events at the O always have a great atmoshphere.
