One might think Wynwood would be happy having the most happening art houses, eateries, nightspots and coffee shop. That thought would be wrong. See, our neck of Miami wants to fuel things too (and not just with ideas, food and caffeine either). And if the fully-charged have their way (and they will; trust us), Wynwood might one day become synonymous with liquor.
Take Delaplaine Champagne (which, with Miami Rum Company and Wynwood Brewery, makes three hyperlocal hot properties). Okay, so right now Delaplaine is really Sparkling Wine (bottled in Napa), but by 2013 (after distilling for the requisite three years) it’ll also be Champagne (from that very region itself). And get this: the independent brand can only be gotten wholesale right here in Wynwood. Really.
Put into play by the sister/brother tag team of Renee and Andrew Delaplaine, who trace their familial bloodline back to 13th century France, the signature bubbly is, in many respects, a personal undertaking. Now that the two (and their company) have set up shop in the sublimely-appointed former photo digs known as Studio 27, it’s also purely professional. Add the fact that sparkling wine also happens to be all Renee drinks (and has drank since forever), and that Andrew is one of the most gifted raconteurs on the planet, and you’ve got the kinda mix of personal and professional that’s a cinch to strike gold wherever it’s sold. (Just ask everyone from The Deuce to The Raleigh, two of the many places Delaplaine is already available.)
Drink up, Miami!

LOVE DELAPLAINE CHAMPAGNE!!! It is expected that such a name and product are supporting the Arts…they done it from the start!!!
