With the myriad of events taking place all week, it seems that the smaller local galleries might have to wrestle some of the attention away from the big-name out-of-towners. Product 81 is humbly throwing its hat into the ring with some pretty cool offerings throughout the week. Here are some of the things we have going on.
David Tamargo- The Urban Hunter is our featured artist and will be exhibiting his photography, along with a new mural from Animal Takeover.
Thursday @ 10pm we’ll have a special pop-up performance by local sweetheart super-duo and all-around-awesomeness Afrobeta along with a special video exhibition by Lindsay Scoggins
Friday night we’ll have live chalkboard art by an artist we’ve featured in the past, Marcello Ibanez along with a performance by Jared Bistrong on the didgeridoo starting @8pm.
Saturday, come participate in the interactive Ista Cultural Seminar where we’ll feature an amazing series of local guest speakers @4-8pm. Topics will include The life and legacy of Master Miami artist -the late Purvis Young, Progressions of Electronic Music Culture in Miami, Origins of Miami Graffiti and New York City transplants planting seeds in Miami. Saturday @10-2am we’ll be hosting the Voodoo party at Treehouse in South Beach featuring guest DJ’s from around the country.
Sunday we’ll be exhibiting David Tamargo’s work @12-6pm.
