World Lounge Radio

While zipping around on our egg hunt we’ve noticed these large couch stickers posted around the neighborhood. We were curious about what they meant and who posted them, but figured it was simply another viral street art exhibit. Stencil art and stickers are common in the Wynwood area. After finding a postcard at Jimmy’z , we realized the couches are promoting a company called World Lounge Radio. The site is an internet radio station that streams free lounge music. Lounge seems to be the go-to genre as background music for some galleries around here, so it seems like the site can be a useful resource. Regardless of what you think of lounge music, it’s an interesting strategy that the company doesn’t include a URL or name on the sticker. We were just Googling “orange couch wireless globe sticker Wynwood” like idiots before today.

  1. Thanks for the write up guys! We wanted to be a bit ambiguous with our marketing campaign and decided to combine stencil and sticker graffiti art tactics (think Shepard Fairy and his Andre the Giant stickers/posters for his Obey campaign) coupled with the postcards placed in businesses close to where the stickers were placed so one would get a sense of “ahhhhh that’s what it is” once they found the postcards. It’s our tribute to street art :) !
